My fiance loves me. It’s an awesome feeling to be loved and to know that love is going to last forever. Oh, and, I love him, too. Of course.
Both of us love Jesus. We worship God. He is our everything. Our very persons are wrapped in His love and saved by His grace. It’s shear beauty.
Neither Seth nor I have been in love before. Not romantic love, I mean. We’ve loved our parents, siblings and our Savior; but we’ve never shared an authentic, genuine, romantic love with anyone else before. Consequently, we still posses our v-cards and are taken aback by the emotions, experiences, and status of being in love. Marriage is on the horizon for us and it is an exciting time in our lives, to say the least.
And in the mean time, our love for one another acts itself out in ways that remind me of worship for our heavenly Father:
- Patience:
Seth and I are seeking purity with everything in us. We are not perfect in this endeavor, of course, but we are waiting for wedding bells and honeymoon suites before we celebrate our love with a most holy human union. Seth and I both worship Christ in this passionate patience. This waiting game is like the patience we might employ in our walks with Christ. Sometimes we fail at patience–we get antsy. Other times, we have clarity of mind to just sit and wait and trust that God is working it all out.
- Vocal affirmation:
I feel that Seth is better at this than me–not that I am a miserable failure. Seth consistently affirms his love for me. In emails, he might remind me of his undying affection for me between every paragraph or subject. On the phone, he’ll sweetly whisper “I love you” any chance he gets. Seth uses his words to treat his sister in Christ with care. In that way, he worships God. Furthermore, he sets a wonderful example of how us Christ-lovers should act when in love with God. We should tell him as often as possible. Between every breath; thought; question; and interaction with others and, by the way, during every breath; thought; question; and interaction with others.
Sometimes, romantic love is like worship. Sometimes, romantic love is worship.
