On my way home from work on Wednesday, I had some strange thinkings going on. I can find correlations where there seem to be no correlations.
I caugth myself furrowing my eyebrows fiercely. I’ve lost my sunglasses and the sun was bright. This, logically, led me to ponder why I would furrow my brows when it’s sunny. I decided it was because the eyebrows, when furrowed, keep more sun from getting to the corneas and we all know that the sun can cause damage to the corneas. This thought, of course, led to the thought of Adam (ya’ know, from Adam and Eve) and what he must have done for however-long-he-lived. I mean, I’m sure the sun was just as bright–if not brighter–back then. Perhaps God created him with deeper-set eyes or thicker brows so as to protect his eyes. While Adam lived for, like, ever (say it like a valley girl, please), he must’ve had some problems with wrinkles–or, perhaps, his eyes. One or the other, I’m thinking. However, nowadays, we have developed things that keep important organs going longer. Sunglasses protect our eyes. We have many ways to protect, heal, cure, and strengthen our bodies. Why, then, are we not living as long as Adam? What kept him living so long, anyway? Maybe God decided we shouldn’t live that long so that we don’t get into all of the crap that these crazy Bible characters got into. Maybe He doesn’t want us to have so much time on our hands that we say “Life’s long, be mean to everyone!” instead of “Life’s short, make it count!” …Okay, maybe I’ve never ever heard anyone say that in my life. Anyway, that’s not the point. The point is… well, there’s no point, as these are random thoughts on a car ride home. But, the psudo-point is that I think it’s about time for our lifespans to swing back up. Let’s live to be 439 years old. We can do it!
Yeah, I know. This is when, perhaps, funny thoughts should remain so. Thoughts.
