When my sister gets married, this is what I’d want to say at her wedding, if she makes me her matron of honor:
Josette,
Tonight, as I look at you in your beautiful white dress, I am overjoyed.
GROOM, as I look at your glorious bride, I can’t help but take this opportunity to warn you about what you’re getting into. Here are a few warnings you should take with you:
1. Squeeze your toothpaste from the bottom of the tube. Josette thinks the whitening toothpaste works better that way.
2. Keep her away from flagpoles. They give her mild concussions.
3. If she ever starts talking to Beezah, don’t ask.
4. Be careful when you say to her, “I’m confused.” She’ll welcome you right into her own world.
But, seriously, Josette: I cannot express how overjoyed I am that God brought GROOM into your life. I know you’ve been through much pain in your search for the man God has for you. And I’m happy to say, without reservation, that I know that GROOM is absolutely God’s will for your life. I know this because he loves God first, you second, and himself third. I know this because he considers you when he makes any decision that needs to be made. I know he’s the one for you because he tells you that you’re the best, most wonderful woman in the world and treats you as though you are worth more than diamonds and rubies and pearls. I know he is a Godsend because he looks at you the way God himself must–in wonder, with love, and in hopes that you will do all you can to please our heavenly Father. His love for you is a pure, respectful extension of God’s love for you and I wish you all the best. And I think I speak for all of us when I say that we wish the two of you all of the best. May God remain the center of your lives as the two of you join together to worship Him
i cried. thanks Becky. one day when GROOM comes in, I won’t be in pain. I will know God has blessed my life with the man I am supposed to be with. I can’t even describe how much I am touched. The pain now can’t even begin to overshadow how happy I know I will be when I meet GROOM. I think I’m going to blog about my groom now. What is the site of the other blog you wrote about the broken engagement.
