I have been instructed, by my dear friend, Veronica, to pray for clarity of thought and that Christ would direct and protect my heart.

How awesome is that!?  In my very heart of hearts, I have a being so powerful that He can protect and guide my heart.  A great fear I have is the destroying of my heart– not my physical heart, you see, but my loving heart.  I love.  I love to love.  I’d love to maintain my pure ability and desire to love others– afterall, what else is there?

Anyway, this morning, as I was loading my email, I was praying this very exact prayer, that Christ would protect and guide my heart.  This was the verse of the day that I have emailed to me:

Above all else, guard your heart, for it affects everything you do. Proverbs 4:23

I love it when this happens.  When Christ is just pounding you with His word.  This time, though, He went a step further.  Yesterday’s verse of the day was:

You desire honesty from the heart, so you can teach me to be wise in my inmost being. Psalm 51:6

It’s a nice little theme. Guard your heart and use it as a tool of honesty.
