Today’s verse is Romans 8.10. Read it below in its context (Why do I care about context?):
9 You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. 10 But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
This is not a verse I recognize off the top of my head. But this verse is pretty magical. Well, miraculous.
Here’s how it works: You and I are born tainted. Really. We are incapable of perfection on our own. This imperfection, also known as sin, makes our body dead in a sense. But, once we believe in Jesus, He begins living in us and our spiritual bodies become alive because God makes us righteous, also known as sinless.
That’s it. It’s amazing.
That’s the long and the short of it.
If you don’t believe in Jesus, you are dead. If you believe in Jesus, you are alive!
If you don’t believe in Jesus, it’s not too late! Believe and you will be alive!
