Admittedly, I could sit here and fail. Admittedly, I have failed. But I’m giving myself an extension and putting in some exceptions for completion, too. So, here I am, making up week 44.
Many of these make-up pictures will come from the trip to South Carolina we took for Thanksgiving. I took a lot of pictures over that weekend. We visited The Hunk’s family in South Carolina. We stayed down the road from his aunt’s house, where some of her good friends live. They were out of town, so we lodged in their classy, southern home. I snapped this picture, my former last initial, one morning.

I love these classy old faucets. The really, really old faucets, that is. Not the kind of old ones. “C” is for “cold.” Well, that, and “classy.”
A desperate student,

As a little girl, I thought that pink was too girly. I hated–loathed the color, at times. I loved the color blue. I’ve since come to my senses that pink is the sweetest color in the world, but blue will always hold second place–a special place in my heart. And that’s because of this:

I bleed blue, baby! Even though I live in buckeye country now, I will always bleed blue. Always and forever.
Go big blue! C-A-T-S CATS! CATS! CATS!
Ah, basketball season… I am so glad to see you again.
Forever a UK fan,

Last night, I caught this beauty. I researched to find out exactly what settings I might need to catch it.
This picture is edited and cropped, of course. Otherwise, I’d be bragging on my ultra-zoom lens. :)
Ironically, when I uploaded this pic, I found one just like it that I’d taken on December 5, 2006 at 7:33pm. It was, of course, with my old Canon point and shoot. Still, it was very good.

Strangely,

I caught these sweet pics a little over a week ago. I snapped at their wedding over three years go, as well. Check out the warmth.

I edited a mixture of warm and cold pictures; I figured they’d want to frame the warm ones and use the others for other types of art.

What fun! Glad to make Melissa and Ben happy customers again. :)
Warmly,

Books. We have tons of books in this house. Seth’s dream is to have a library in our future house and I teach English language arts. We’re not short on books. In fact, here’s my always-a-work-in-progress, at-home reading stack.

I’m always reading the Bible. I prefer the ESV version, primarily because the study notes in this version are fabulously awesome. Right now, Seth and I are reading from Proverbs; it’s really helping me get some perspective concerning the way God values wisdom far above fools.
New at this pastor’s wife thing, I’m reading Beyond Duct Tape, a book about keeping our hearts as women in ministry. I haven’t gotten very far into this book, yet; mostly, I’ve read about how we need to focus on our story as we consider our place and our testimony in ministry.
I journal regularly as often as I can. I used to journal at least three times a week. At any rate, this journal has Bible verses at the top of every spread. I read the context of the verse then write 1) the explanation of the context, 2) how the verse/context pertains to me and then 3) a prayer concerning the verse and how it pertains to my life or the lives of others.
I’m reading How they Found Christ, as well. Freeman pieces together the basic stories of some of the modern heroes of our faith, including C.S. Lewis, Cori Ten Boom, and Martin Luther. These people didn’t necessarily write their salvation stories, but some of the stories are taken from other writings they completed.
Finally, I’m going through Erasing Hell by Francis Chan. This book explains why hell must be real according to the Bible and the complications that arise from dismissing such an idea. He combats other views on hell, including the view that we will all eventually be in heaven.
What are you reading at home? Do you have separate reading lists or are you a one-at-a-time kind of person? What does my book list say about me? Notice any trends?
Studiously,

Week 41 is an inequity. I am not around sports. Well, not often. So, when week 41 rolled around, I started to fail. Sports? I don’t spend time around sports. I have a volleyball… and I could’ve taken a picture of that, but nothing exciting. So, last night, I captured a few game pictures, as Oasis students went to an arcade and laser tag place. Remember DDR? Some students jumped on and rocked it. See Cyle and Andrew:

These two are impressive. Also, check out this sweet game of air hockey. Dana and Andrew played a heated battle.

The game was close. Real close.

Good job, guys!
We had a blast. Oasis students, you are a blast to hang with. Thanks for coming out!
Peace,
