Spring has been super crazy. I mean, have you noticed? Spring was last week and weeks before that: summer. Mother nature is seriously off her rocker.
We had spring retreat last week. I love spring retreat for two reasons: 1) It is a time to get away from the usual and hang. 2) It is a fabulous time to evaluate the last year–examine ourselves for growth.
Growth is important in the Christian walk. We spend retreat singing, praying, listening to God, and spending time with one another. Some students even do homework. It’s very low-key. And growth occurs in all of us.

How often do you get away to recharge and grow? I know I should more often.
Reflectively,

Alright. I think I can get back in the groove now. After the technical interruption, I’ve totally been off kilter. I’m vowing to get back in the groove.
So, while my computer was down, I was still snapping pictures.
I caught this fabulous image that I think totally captures the essence of what The Hunk strives to do for The Kingdom.
In this picture, The Hunk is watching Ray as he preaches on campus. The Hunk is a part of a major discipleship endeavors for Christ. He helps to train others to preach The Gospel–both on a platform and off.

Truly, truly, The Hunk is able to water the seeds in these students so they might grow and share with others the Christ in them. This allows the hidden treasures to grow and bloom in The Kingdom.
How do you hope to impact the world for Christ?
Matthew 13.44: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
In Christ,

On Friday, we met with students and [The Hunk] played ultimate Frisbee with them. I brought along the camera to catch the action.
In the mean time, I caught this image, very minimal.

I’m now officially back on track with my photo project for this year. With the exception of random summer vacations and such, I should be able to stay on task the rest of the year.
With immense hope,

Last week, when I was on spring break (It was lovely; did I tell you that?), I ate at Raisin’ Cane’s with The Hunk. I love that place. Ever eaten there? It’s basically only chicken tenders. Delicious, steaming hot chicken tenders.
I, personally, love their sweet tea. A native Kentucky girl, it’s nice that I’m guaranteed some sweet tea at this restaurant in Ohio. (Yankees need a clue when it comes to sweet tea!)

I edited this images on Picnik in honor of the end of a wonderful online photo editing resource. It will be missed. Here’s hoping Google doesn’t replace it with something inferior.
…
Anyway, have a fabulous day!
Without further ramblings,

I have hit the romance jackpot. Seriously. The Hunk is fabulous. Be jealous.
Over spring break, we spent some time at the Park of Roses. We brought along Nikki (our Nikon D3000). We caught a bunch of pictures–too many to put here.
I love the curves nature provides. And, so, in honor of this week’s [alternative] theme, here is my favorite picture from our trip.

Here are a few other shots. Want to see the whole album? Click here.

Joyfully,

I’m on spring break. It’s lovely, really. No, really.
I spent some time with Giannina one evening and we grabbed her senior portraits. It was a delightful time at Jeffery Mansion in Bexley, Ohio.
I love the oil pastel look of this image.

I love the idea of placing a path in front of the subject, indicating a journey before her.

I love the close images. Warm and friendly.

Now, this just looks cool. Rockin’… Can I say “rockin'”? I am a teacher, after all.

Simple. Beautiful.

The last image captured:

I also included a few collages in Giannina’s image package. Here’s one:

What a pleasure it was to photograph Giannina. My hope is that Giannina is successful in her post-high school endeavors.
Whimsically,
