Unexpected Perspective: 4/52 (Let’s Do 52)

As the yearbook adviser, I tell my students to avoid taking pictures of the backs of people. ”What is interesting about the backs of people?” I ask. Usually, they get it.

However, this week, I caught an excellent picture from the back.

The Hunk’s brother came back from Afghanistan on R&R. We met him at the airport. It was a sweet reunion.

I caught this precious shot on our way out.

So glad to be spending time with him a little before he goes back to finish his tour.

Negative Space: 3/52 (Let’s Do 52)

Today is the perfect day to capture a negative/white space image. Last night, as The Hunk and I were falling asleep, we heard icy precipitation hit the bedroom window. I don’t know how much it snowed overnight, but we woke up to a nice covering.

I found this beauty in front of my place. I used Paint the Moon‘s Vanilla Pop action to give it a nice warmth and softness. I love the action; it gives me a lot of freedom to adjust the settings.

So, I’ll probably spend the rest of this cold day inside. Maybe have some hot chocolate. Maybe nap off and on. And, of course, curl up in my t-shirt blanket.

Last night, I opened my home to the women of Oasis Christian Community. We had some good food, watched One Night with the King, and, of course, chatted it up.

I made plenty of food because I knew not how many people were going to show. We had more than enough to eat. Not pictured: Chicken n dumplins. What a wonderful evening!

We had a wonderful time. I’m looking forward to our event next quarter.

A day late, but I took this picture yesterday. I have never eaten sushi, but I can’t fathom the idea of eating raw fish. Raw fish. Very natural.

Do you like sushi? If you were recommending a starter sushi, what would it be? I need to prepare for my trip to Japan this summer.
